Stella and Jupiler are 2 beers from the same compagnie.
They are better abroad than in Belgium.

Maybe I am not hipster enough to understand this beer. It barely has a taste, and is generally too fizzy for me to handle, and really do you need the fluted glass? it certainly did not put argyle socks on me, overpriced, and not really my style. Hipsters Unite !!

Just a very fine beer. Nothing to lose your mind, but fine enough to chose it from others. Better than Heineken, as Derek said.

Not my favorite beer, but it's better than Heineken. Pretty good drinking beer (no thinking involved).

This is my favorite "steady Eddie" of the import beer world. I can drink these all day and minus a bit foggy head in the morning, there is never a major hangover... I also know it as the wife beater from my travels abroad, but only ever heard it of that because of the types of folks that drink it. I prefer Ras Poeten's alternative reasoning in his review.

Stella my favorite beer. It's fairly ubiquitous around the world so I usually feel comfortable knowing that it's available. It's got a smooth, subtle taste with just the right thickness for drinking over long periods of time.

I'm not a big fan of bitter 'hoppy' tasting beer, nor am I a fan of the tasteless, water-thin American stuff either. This is the perfect in-between beer.

Stella is now available almost everywhere so I find myself drinking it a lot. And I like it.

It's referred to as, "the beater," in Australia, or "wife beater". I was told it referred to the type of people who drink the beer, but I suspect the reference is to the abusive character Stanley Kowalski (played by Marlon Brando in the 1951 film) whose cries of "Stella!", in A Streetcar Named Desire are unforgettable.

If anyone know different, please set me straight or continue the story...

Mediocre and inoffensive eurolager. Not much of a taste, but nothing to cause great offense either.

While I'm sure the myriad Stella fans will howl in complaint, and many will balk at the difference in styles, I can't help but think of Stella as a Budweiser that doesn't suck.

Perhaps I have warped taste buds. Regardless, Stella is a fine brew for any day, and makes for an excellent "premium" stand-by. Given the choice between American macros and stella, I'd certainly go after the latter.

Although that's hardly a ringing endorsement.

Suffice to say, it's a good beer. Stella isn't great, though, and not anything I'd go out of my way to order.

While I am not much of a beer drinker (I tend to prefer hard ciders), I have found that this is particularly good, especially when really cold.

Having tried it both from draught and bottle, I prefer this particular beer in the bottle.

Best out of the bottle, I've found that the quality of Stella draughts have steadily decreased in the years since it's been in the US.

A generally mediocre Belgian, but an absolutely perfect cure for the hot and sweaty day.

Watery proof that all imported beers are not worthwhile. Punishment for the fact that Australia exports Fosters!

Stella is grand when served cold from a tap, but it is without doubt the worst warm beer I have ever tasted.
Pretty strong stuff too.

Always a safe bet. Although their advertising attempts to brand it as a premium lager ("Reassuringly expensive", indeed), it's cheap and readily available.

A cheap beer drunk by little old men in Belgium. Also, an expensive beer drunk by people who think they're trendy in America!
